WELCOME TO ArBOR AND OUR FIRST PROJECT

Our first projects will concentrate on restoring our valley ecosystems following the catastrophic fires of October 2017. We are part of Nature. Without functional and healthy ecosystems, no human systems embedded within them can be functional or healthy either. Everything here burned. So above all, we want to increase the area planted to native deciduous species.

We’re delighted to announce our first project in partnership with the Comissão dos Baldios de Pai das Donas, the Comissão de Melhoramentos de Pai das Donas, and the Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas (ICNF).

5,600 trees will be planted over the 9 hectares of this initial phase of native forest restoration. The species we will be planting are oak (Quercus robur), sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa) and ash (Fraxinus excelsior/angustifolia).
